Warm, steady support for independence at home
Practical home support and meaningful companionship that strengthens independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
Steady Companions provides non-clinical, relationship-based companionship for older adults who want to remain independent.
It is a one-to-one, consistent companionship model built around time, presence, and trust. The focus is on steadiness, familiarity, and supporting everyday life at the client’s pace.
Steady Companions was created from a broader body of work across community services, mental health, disability, housing, and community support, with over seven years’ experience in the sector.
The service exists because while clinical and care services are essential, they don’t always cover the social, emotional, and everyday parts of life—especially as life becomes quieter, more limited, or more isolating.
Steady Companions is designed to sit alongside existing services, not replace them. The approach is practical and calm, with a focus on consistency, respect for independence, and supporting people to stay connected to their routines, homes, and communities.
Steady Companions provides non-clinical companionship and practical, independence-supporting help in the home and community, always at the client’s pace and preference.
